Ergo Baby Goes Organic

Karin Frost, owner and designer of ERGObaby, created the new Organic line of carriers and accessories in response to the increased awareness for eco-friendly products and sustainable production methods. She traveled to India in 2007 to visit the textile mill where our fabric is produced by a company that was the first in India to be organically certified in 1996. We realize that our customers want to know that our fabric choices are eco-conscious and that we trust and feel good about the mill involved.

Organically grown cotton utilizes natural plant extracts and beneficial insects to control pests and maintains the health of the soil by avoiding the destruction of beneficial organisms. It also enhances the fertility of the soil through rotational cropping practices and does not pose hazards to human health.

ERGObaby believes that organic cotton is good for you and good for nature. Our new 100% Organic Cotton Carriers (including the linings, Infant Inserts and Accessories) are certified by Control Union Certification (formerly SKAL International). The inspection is conducted annually from the farms to the processing plant. The dyes are certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 to meet European standards and SGS to meet all U.S. Federal, State and Local Regulations as well as compliance with the European Standard EN 71 Part 3:1994 +A1:2000.

Our Certified 100% Organic Cotton is grown, processed and manufactured in compliance with Organic Fiber Processing Standards utilizing natural agricultural methodology without the application of toxic chemicals. The emphasis is to avoid negative impact on surrounding eco-systems. Many minds and hands around the world contributed to the manufacture of the ERGObaby Organic products…all in the spirit of preserving our planet and advancing fair labor practices.
